Expect a wait of 10 to 15 minutes between 10:30 am and 5 pm. Dress with respect and keep quiet inside. Photos are not allowed in the nave or during services. You may take them in the side aisles.
Sacré-Cœur dome tickets
The dome costs €8 for adults 16 and over and €5 for children up to 15. Tickets are sold on site only, so you cannot book ahead.
You climb about 280 steps on a narrow stair, with no elevator. The dome is open daily from 10:15 am to 5:30 pm, with last entry at 5 pm. It may close for weather or works.
How to get up the hill
You can walk up the steps or ride the Montmartre funicular. The RATP says the funicular runs daily from about 6 am to 12:45 am. It costs one metro ticket.
For reduced mobility, there is a step-free elevator at the back of the basilica. It runs from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. Most walks here do not suit wheelchair users.
Which Montmartre walk to book
For most people, the highlights walk is the one to book. It has the best rating and a local guide. Pick the small-group walk if you want a group of 10 or fewer.
The croissant walk adds a snack and viewpoints. The guided walk is the cheapest, but groups can reach 100. All the walks here are in English and have free cancellation.
From the hill you can see the Eiffel Tower. Its summit tickets can sell out fast, so book Eiffel Tower tickets early.
